Did YOU Spot the UFO Flying above Abertillery?

DID you spot something mysterious in the skies above Abertillery on Monday, June 30?

Less than a fortnight after reports surfaced about South Wales Police pursuing a “flying-saucer shaped” aircraft, after it zoomed over St Athan Ministry of Defence base in the Vale of Glamorgan, the Gazette received a phone call from an Abertillery man claiming to have spotted a UFO.

The man, who did not wish to be named, said he was amazed to see an unexplainable flashing craft in the sky above his Gladstone Street home.

He said: “About 12 o’clock I was dozing on the chair when my wife woke me up saying to come and have a look at something. So I got up and we could see this thing that looked like a spinning top flying really low. in the sky.

“It was like a carousel with orange and white lights. It wasn’t a helicopter or a plane.”

Before he had a chance to capture the craft on camera it flew over the mountain in the direction of Ebbw Vale.

UFO Sighting in South Norfolk
Lights in the sky: Did you see anything unusual in the sky at the weekend?UFO has been spotted in a south Norfolk village. A Garboldisham resident was walking his dog on the village’s playing fields when the sighting was made.

The man reported seeing a large yellow beam of light that shot across the sky repeatedly for about ten minutes at about 12.30am on Saturday.

He said: «There’s no doubt about what I spotted.

«I frequently walk my dog at night, but this is the first time I have ever seen anything like that.

«It wasn’t a plane or anything, it was definitely a UFO – I got quite scared.»

Garboldisham is midway between Diss and Thetford on the Norfolk-Suffolk border and the sighting is not the first in the area, with Suffolk named a UFO hotspot earlier this year.

More Sightings of Hounslow UFO
Jul 8 2008-By Nina Rossi and Lucy ProctorThe mystery around a UFO seen swooping through Bedfont skies on Sunday deepens as more people contact us with similar strange stories.

Yesterday Bedfont gran Lynne Martin, of Beech Road, appealed for fellow witnesses after spotting a trio of mysterious lights ‘swooping and merging’ in the skies above her home at 11pm on Sunday night.

Within minutes Isleworth mum Kimberley Eliadef contacted us, adamant she saw something she could not explain in the night sky on Sunday.

«My neighbour thinks we’re all barmy,» she said. «But four of us saw itand so did two dog walkers I met in the park. There were threedisk-like lights following each other and moving away, then meeting inthe middle.»

Ms Eliadef, of Tolson Road, was so intrigued she contacted Twickenham Stadium to check they were not responsible. But a spokesman insisted they had no major events or lighting checks scheduled on Sunday.

Hounslow resident Harmeet Sethi also spotted the unidentified objectsflying through the air and was so alarmed he contacted the police.

«I saw them with my friend,» said Mr Sethi, of the Great West Road. «Wechecked to see what it was but couldn’t find anything and the police weren’t interested.

«I tried to take a picture but it wouldn’t come out on my camera phone. I just don’t know what they could have been.»

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence said she was ‘not aware’ miltary operations going on in the area at the time of the sightings. She said: «The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity.

«If required, sighting reports are examined with the assistance of the Department’s air defence experts. Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported.»

A spokeswoman for NATs, the main air traffic controller for Heathrow, said: «There was’t any unusual activity at that time of evening.
